I knew this was the place for my wedding the minute I approached the church steps. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the sanctuary. From the hand carved wooden vestments crowned by the masterfully crafted stained glass windows, to the magnificent cathedral ceilings, this was the wedding place I dreamed of as a little girl.
The Presbyterian Church recognizes that marriage is a gift that God has given to humankind for the well-being of the entire human family. We believe that marriage is an honorable state, instituted by God, blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ and held in honor by His people. Scripture instructs those who enter into this relationship to cherish a mutual love for one another; to share in each other’s infirmities and weaknesses; to comfort each other in sickness, trouble and sorrow; to provide for each other; to pray and encourage each other; and, to live together as children of God.
A Christian marriage is a covenant through which a man and woman are called to live together before God their lives of discipleship. In a service of Christian marriage, a lifelong commitment is made by the couple to each other, publicly witnessed and acknowledged by the community of faith.
We celebrate the commitment made by a man and a woman here at our church and welcome those ceremonies in our Sanctuary.
