We are in God’s Hands

We are in God’s Hands

Dear FPCSA Family & Friends,

Weā€™re in an interesting time.  Seems like the news is dominated by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  I turned the news on Tuesday night to hear the election results in other states, and all they were talking about was COVID-19.

At First Presbyterian Church, we take the health and safety of our church family very seriously.  Because we are a smaller church, we will continue to meet on Sundays.  Weā€™ll have regular worship this coming Sunday, March 15th.  At the same time, we will continue to closely monitor the OC Public Health Department recommendations.

Keep in mind the following:

  • FPCSA is doing everything in its power to keep the facility clean, safe and germ-free.
  • If you are sick or feeling a little under the weather, please stay home and take care of yourself.  For those who are considered to be ā€œvulnerableā€ ā€“ 60+ and those with serious, chronic medical conditions ā€“ you may also want to consider staying home.  Better safe than sorry.
  • If you come to church, please do not shake hands or hug.  I wonā€™t be shaking hands after the service, not because I donā€™t love you, but because I do.  Since the sermon topic this Sunday is on Peterā€™s interaction with Jesus about how many times he should forgive someone, I was planning to include a Passing of the Peace during worship.  We will not be doing that after all.

  • While at church, please wash your hands often and refrain from touching public surfaces.
  • Most important: rest in the knowledge that in life and in death, we belong to God.  We are in Godā€™s hands.

Finally, the Menā€™s Prayer Gathering will be meeting this coming Saturday, March 14th, at 9:00 a.m.  Weā€™ll gather in the newly refurbished Prayer Room (near the church offices).  Men of all ages are welcome.

😊

Wash your hands.

Psalm 91:1f

Those who abide in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, ā€œHe is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.ā€

May God richly bless you, even as He blesses others through you!

In Christ’s love & service,

Lance Allen, Pastor
